What is the official cash rate?

The official cash rate for the bank rate and is the rate of interest which the Reserve Bank of Australia charges on overnight loans to commercial banks such as Westpac and ANZ.

Why is the cash rate important to you?

Most areas of trade in Australia are affected in someway by cash rate adjustments. On a personal level, interest rates for home, investment, and other loans are heavily influenced by the cash rate.
