Villa Les Cedres – the world’s most expensive house.

Does the mansion deserve the hefty price tag?

The world’s most expensive house has been listed with an enormous asking price of AUD1.4 billion.

The French mansion is known as Les Cedres or The Birds and was designed in 1870 by Sébastien-Marcel Biasinithe, an esteemed architect responsible for over 19 other mansions located in Nice. Les Cedres is located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, an exclusive vacation hotspot on the French Riviera. Whoever purchases this luxurious property will have neighbors including Andrew Lloyd Webber and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. The mansion features a decadent list of facilities including 10 bedrooms, 30 stables, a ballroom, chapel, Olympic-size pool pool, 25 greenhouses, and an enormous garden.

However, we would argue that if you are in the market for billion dollar properties, China’s Taohuayuan would get you more bang for your buck. The 32 bedroom home was listed at a more reasonable AUD201 million. Take a look at the walled fortress below:
